A Forest of Friends Story
The Forest of Friends was quiet that morning when JJ returned from his big trip.
He had just come back from Woofstock, where dogs from all over gathered to celebrate rescue pets and meet new families.
Detective Uno was waiting at the clubhouse door.
“Uncle JJ!” Uno barked excitedly. “Where have you been?”
JJ sat down proudly.
“I went on a mission for the Forest.”
Uno’s ears stood straight up.
“A mission?”
JJ nodded.
“At Woofstock I met many pets with powerful stories. Some were rescue dogs still looking for homes. Some had already found families who loved them. Every one of them had a story worth telling.”
Ricky Ticky quickly opened the Investigation Journal.
“Adopt-a-Heart stories,” he said. “Important evidence.”
JJ continued.
“We met pets like Murray and others who were once waiting for someone to see them. Now they have families and friends. That’s why Woofstock matters. It helps rescue pets find their forever homes.”
Uno thought about this for a moment.
“So the mission is to help rescue pets find friends?”
“Exactly,” JJ replied.
Uno looked very serious. When Uno gets serious, everyone in the Forest knows something important is about to happen.
Uno cleared his throat.
“Dad,” he said, turning to Tank. “I have an announcement.”
Tank looked down calmly.
“Oh?”
Uno stood tall like a judge making an official decision.
“I am Uno. And I am making a rule.”
Ricky Ticky stopped writing.
“This sounds like a new law,” he whispered.
Uno pointed his paw proudly.
“Next time Uncle JJ goes to Woofstock… Uno goes too.”
Tank looked thoughtful.
“This rule…” Tank said slowly, “…is under review.”
JJ laughed.
“Maybe next time, Detective Uno.”
Uno smiled.
Because if there were more rescue pets waiting to be seen…
Then the Forest of Friends would need another investigator.
