Helping Children Understand Big Feelings
Children do not always have the words to explain how they feel — but they can often show what they notice.
Through the VNEC approach, MeMe SEL Academy uses selected moments from the MeMe, JJ & Friends series to help children slow down, observe visual clues, and connect what they see to emotion and story meaning.
Instead of guessing feelings, children learn to:
Observe what is happening
Notice posture, facial expression, distance, movement, and behavior
Interpret using visual evidence
Connect their thinking to the story
This supports reading comprehension, emotional awareness, and confidence — especially for children who need help expressing what they see, think, and feel.
