Detective Uno and Ricky Ticky: The Case of the Missing Left Shoe- Critical Thinking for Kids

Uno had a problem.

A very serious problem.

Uno sat in the middle of the room staring at the floor.

“My shoe is gone,” Uno said.

Not just any shoe.

Uno’s left shoe.

Ricky Ticky walked in slowly, his nose twitching.

“What seems to be the problem, Detective Uno?” Ricky Ticky asked.

Uno stood up dramatically.

“My left shoe has disappeared,” Uno announced.

Ricky Ticky blinked.

“One shoe?” he asked.

“Yes,” Uno said. “The important one.”

Ricky Ticky looked around the room.

He saw the couch.
He saw the chair.
He saw Uno’s right shoe.

But the left shoe?

Missing.

Ricky Ticky rubbed his chin like a real detective.

“We must investigate,” he said.

Uno nodded.

The two investigators began their search.

First they checked under the table.

No shoe.

Then behind the couch.

Still no shoe.

Uno’s ears began to droop.

“This is terrible,” Uno said.

Ricky Ticky looked closer at Uno.

His tail had stopped wagging.
His paws were tapping the floor.

Ricky Ticky knew that look.

Uno’s emotions were getting loud.

“Uno,” Ricky Ticky said gently, “maybe we should slow down.”

But Uno was already pacing.

“My shoe! My legacy shoe!” Uno cried.

Ricky Ticky sighed.

He knew what happened next.

When Uno’s emotions got too big…
